NOLA

New Orleans has so much history, culture, and spirit. It was filled with amazing heart and soul that was shown through the music, the food, and the pride of those who live there. It was amazing experience and I look forward to returning someday. Some memories of my experience include Frenchman's street where the music was just like the old days, real live jazz with soul. Sidewalk street players doing what they love most; nothing beats the sound of the sax, trumpet, and bass. Bourbon street was full of life where the party never stops and the more beads are always flowing. Backstreet Cultural Museum is in the Treme and has the most beautifully hand sown beaded costumes that take a year to make just one. I learned so much about where Mardi Gras originally started and the ways peoples life are celebrated once they have passed. It was fascinating! The graveyards have tombs that are massive in size and are eerily beautiful. We ventured outside the city and did a swamp tour checking out the wetland wildlife and watching alligators swim. It was an amazing week to say the least.
